The Barking 20′s
The “Roaring 20′s” was a period in the USA’s history where the economy was booming more than it had ever in the history of the USA and quite possibly of the world. “The Great War” was over and Europe was on the road to recovery while the USA was isolated enough from the war that it was able to continue on with the new advances the war brought. With good times, people want to be entertained and this decade “moving pictures” really took off. Films were no longer short films (10-20 minutes) but actual films (60+ minutes) and a new form of moving picture called a “talkie” (movie with sound) was emerging thus solidifying the moving picture’s place in modern society.
Air Bud (Franchise)
In 1997 Disney released “Air Bud”. The movie is about a young boy (Josh Framm) who loses his father in an accident and then his family moves to Washington (state). Meanwhile, an abusive and alcoholic dog owner (Norman Snively) is taking Buddy (a golden retriever) to the pound but his kennel falls off the back of the truck and buddy escapes. Josh and Buddy meet up and quickly becomes friends.
Josh finally gains enough courage to try out for the basketball team and makes it onto the team. During his first game Buddy shows up and causes a lot of confusion and mayhem but the crowd loves him. Buddy even scores a basket during his exhibition. During the season Buddy’s former owner notices him and steals Buddy just before the championship game. Josh helps buddy escape but then Norman sues the family for custody of the dog. Luckily, Josh’s family wins the suit and they get to keep the dog.
True Blood Season 5 – The Werewolves
The crew for the HBO series is having their casting calls for the “werewolves” this week. Wolf (or wolfdog?) owners and trainers distracted their wolves while the staff discussed who would be hired.

In the beginning of the XXXXXX the XXXXX XXXXXX comes across a slain XXXX XXXX mother and six XXXXXXX. The initial order is to kill the puppies so no more dire wolves exist in the XXXXXXX but the children take it as a sign since the XXXXX XXXXX emblem is a XXXX. The five XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXX get a XXXX XXX each and later a XXXXXX XXXXX is found, a XXXX, which is given to XXXX XXXX (the XXXXXXX son). Continue reading
Cujo
DogActors.com note: The novel and movie do not portray Saint Bernards in an accurate manner and both make it clear that Cujo is infected with rabies, which any mammal can get and will cause chaotic and aggressive behavior. Saint Bernards are typically affectionate and loyal. Typically the largest threats to people from the breed is their large size, clumsiness, and a high chance of a wet and slobbery kiss.
The 1981 novel by Stephen King, “Cujo” and the 1983 movie based on the novel and with the same name is about a Saint Bernard. Despite the love the family has for their dog, they never got it vaccinated against rabies. There is a lot of tension in the family (abusive husband / father) and by chance, the wife (Charity played by Kaiulani Lee) wins the lottery and convinces the husband to allow her to take their son (Brett – played by Billy Jayne) to her sister’s house in Connecticut. During this time Cujo gets infected with the rabies virus (he got his head stuck and was bitten by an infected bat) and after they leave starts to aggressively attack and kill people. During the rampage, Donna Trenton (played by Dee Wallace) and her son, Tad (played by Danny Pintauro) are trapped in their car and the story centers around them and their struggle to escape.
